Features

Choice of magnification; 3.5-diopter (1.88X) or 5-diopter (4.75X).  With low level magnification an object can be studied while the edge of the object remains in focus. With increased magnification, small details are more clearly apparent but there is more blurring at the edges.   (Diopter specifies the refractive (light bending) capacity of a lens and is equivalent to 25% magnification.)

ESD models are available for use in static-sensitive environments. The shade and arm are powder-coated with a metal-laced conductive paint. The remaining components are molded with static dissipative materials.  Since all surfaces are non-insulated the triboelectric charging results in drastically lower static voltages, especially since any charge (under 50 volts) is uniformly distributed throughout the entire surface. 

Stadium shaped lens offers the largest distortion-free viewing area in the industry.  

To meet Luxo's high quality standards and the durability expected by customers,  Luxo's engineers specify, design, develop and test every product for performance and reliability with the simulation of a wide variety of environmental conditions at their corporate research and testing facilities.  The Glamox Group (developer and manufacturer of Luxo brand products) operates these state-of-the-art quality assessment and testing laboratories in Norway and Germany. Focal length: The distance from the center of the lens to the viewed object when in focus. As magnification increases, the focal length decreases.
Working distance:  The area between the underside of the magnifier and the top of the object being viewed when the object appears in focus.

Tips on proper use of Luxo's Wave UV LED Magnifier

To take best advantage of the comforts built into the Wave UV LED illuminated magnifier, please keep these points in mind:

• Use both eyes to view an object whenever possible. Magnifiers are designed as "working tools". They can be used as comfortably as a pair of glasses.

• Position the lens so that it is a proper distance from the work area, yet close enough for your eyes (8" to 10") so that you have the maximum magnification without distortion. Do not lean back away from the lens to increase magnification. 

• Chair height and work surface should be adjusted so the operator can maintain good posture while working.

• Wear appropriate safety equipment to protect skin and eyes not only from direct UV exposure but also reflective surfaces.
